How do I join 485 Squadron?
To join the squadron, you need to be between 12 (in Year 8) and 17 years old. You can attend for up to three parade nights as a visitor before deciding to join. Please contact us to arrange your first visit.
What's the cost to join?
There is a subscription fee of approximately £15 per month, which covers the basic costs of running the squadron. Additional activities may have extra costs, which will be communicated in advance.
Do I need to have a military career?
No, there's no obligation to join the military after being an Air Cadet. While some cadets do pursue military careers, many others use the valuable skills they've gained in civilian careers.
How can I volunteer as staff?
We're always looking for adult volunteers to help run the squadron. No military background is required, and full training is provided. Please contact us to discuss volunteering opportunities.
